Privacy Notice
How we handle personal data collected through this website.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Castro & Chagas Advogados Associados respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use it and what rights you may have under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais or LGPD). This English text is provided for convenience; the Portuguese version is the official notice.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Castro & Chagas Advogados Associados, registered in Brazil under CNPJ No. 48.577.164/0001-02. For questions about your personal data, contact us at faleconosco@castroechagas.com.
2. What data we collect
- Contact form: your name, phone number, email address and the message you submit.
- WhatsApp, email or phone contact: information you choose to send us through those channels.
- Browsing data: Cloudflare Web Analytics provides visit statistics (such as how many people viewed each page). This tool does not use cookies or identify visitors individually.
- Technical and security logs: the hosting server records technical access data, such as IP address, date and time, for security and spam-prevention purposes.
3. How we use your data
- To respond to your inquiry and provide requested information;
- To take steps toward a possible engagement at your request;
- To secure the website and prevent fraud and spam;
- To understand website use in aggregate and improve it.
Under the LGPD, these activities may rely on your consent, pre-contractual steps taken at your request and the firm's legitimate interest in keeping the website secure (Article 7, items I, V and IX).
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell or assign your personal data. Service providers that support the website and our communications—such as the hosting company, email provider and analytics service—may process data only as needed for those purposes. We may also disclose data when required by law or by an order from a competent authority.
5. How long we keep data
Website inquiries are retained for as long as needed to respond. If an inquiry results in a professional relationship, data is handled under the legal and ethical duties applicable to the practice of law, including professional confidentiality. Afterward, data is deleted or anonymized.
6. How we protect data
The website uses a secure HTTPS connection, and access to incoming messages is limited to the firm's team. Information entrusted to us is handled subject to the confidentiality duties inherent in legal practice.
7. Your rights
Under Article 18 of the LGPD, you may at any time:
- confirm whether we process your data and access it;
- correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
- request anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or unlawfully processed data;
- request data portability;
- obtain information about the parties with whom your data has been shared;
- withdraw consent and request deletion of data processed on that basis.
To exercise these rights, email faleconosco@castroechagas.com. You may also lodge a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
8. Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It uses only a technical cookie that does not identify visitors, to help the browser display the latest version of the website.
